It started with a dog named Milo and a frustrating trip to the pet store.
I’m Dillon, the founder of Kept Home. I was looking for a slow feeder bowl for Milo—a simple product that helps dogs eat at a healthier pace. What I found were bowls priced at $40–$60, made from the same food-grade silicone that costs a fraction of that to manufacture.
The more I looked, the more I noticed this pattern everywhere in the pet industry: solid, functional products marked up 3–5x simply because brands can get away with it. Pet parents love their animals, and companies exploit that willingness to spend.
So I decided to do something about it. I spent months researching materials, testing manufacturers, and studying what actually makes a difference for pets versus what’s just marketing. The goal was simple: find products that genuinely work, use quality materials, and price them fairly.
Kept Home launched with the SlowBowl—the same food-grade silicone, the same smart ridge design, at a price that makes sense. Since then, we’ve expanded to grooming and play, always applying the same principle: research first, fair pricing always.
